On this day back in 1950, Robert Schuman set out his idea for a new form of political cooperation in Europe, ultimately creating the European Union. “For me, Europe essentially means freedom, democracy and diversity,” said Bundesbank President Joachim Nagel, honouring this anniversary.

Die Rentabilität der kleinen und mittelgroßen Banken und Sparkassen in Deutschland hat sich im Jahr 2023 deutlich verbessert, dies zeigt der aktuelle Bankenstresstest von BaFin und Bundesbank. Die Institute kommen mit einer gestärkten Ertragslage aus der Zinswende, haben ihre Kapitelausstattung weiter erhöht und zeigen sich auch für ein hartes Krisenszenario gewappnet. Die Ergebnisse des sogenannten LSI-Stresstest präsentierten Raimund Röseler, BaFin-Exekutivdirektor Bankenaufsicht, und Michael Theurer, das für die Bankenaufsicht zuständige Vorstandsmitglied der Bundesbank, bei einer gemeinsamen Pressekonferenz in Frankfurt.
