Axel joined the Centre for International Central Bank Dialogue (CIC) in 2026 as the Senior Advisor for Financial Stability. In this role, he is responsible for all international courses and bilateral activities on financial stability.

He has ten years of experience in financial stability, having worked at the Deutsche Bundesbank and the European Insurance and Occupational Pensions Authority (EIOPA). Since 2023, his focus has been on household vulnerability and residential real estate. Before 2023, he worked primarily on risks in the insurance sector. Axel holds a PhD in economics from Leibniz University Hannover.
