At the CIC, Gunnar is responsible for bilateral activities and international courses on payment systems, central bank digital currencies (CBDC), and IT.

Gunnar joined the Deutsche Bundesbank in 2009, after gaining experience in custody and settlement. He contributed to the development of TARGET2-Securities (T2S), focusing on the coordination of ISO 20022 messages. From 2014, he was responsible for 4CB test coordination. Since 2019, his main focus has been test automation for T2S/T2 and special assignments. He has also participated in international working groups, like the SMPG.
