New courses in 2027: Innovation, sustainability and central bank expertise CIC-Newsletter – September 2026

The demands placed on central banks are constantly evolving – and with them, our range of training opportunities. For 2027, we have expanded and restructured our course programme in a targeted manner and are thus able to provide you with practical and future-oriented learning opportunities. There are 45 courses in total − 10 online and 35 in-person. Four in-person courses are conducted in cooperation with the Joint Vienna Institute in Vienna. The focus is on our core business areas of monetary policy, implementation of monetary policy, financial supervision and financial stability, cash, cashless payments and the digital euro, good governance and statistics. In addition, we are offering the following new courses:

1 Climate risk & central banks – focus on sustainability at international institutions

Sustainability and good governance are key issues for central banks worldwide. The CIC has been offering environmental, social and governance (ESG) courses for years now. Our new “Climate Risk & Central Banks” course provides you with a comprehensive overview of current developments and challenges. The broad perspective is particularly noteworthy. In addition to the Bundesbank’s view, we also take into account the expertise of other institutions based in Frankfurt, including the European Central Bank (ECB). You will gain practical insights into how various organisations implement ESG requirements and which strategies have proven their worth. Take this opportunity to network with colleagues from various institutions and discuss innovative approaches together!

2 Artificial intelligence – restructured range of courses for your future

Rapid developments in the field of artificial intelligence (AI) pose new challenges for central banks – at the same time opening up exciting opportunities. In order to provide you with the best possible support, we have fundamentally overhauled our AI training and now offer specialised courses:

The courses provide in-depth knowledge and practical perspectives. They will help you assess the potential of AI for your institution and actively shape future challenges.

3 Auditing – a topic revisited

After a break of several years, we will once again be offering a course on auditing from 2027. Demand for in-depth training opportunities in this area has risen significantly in recent years, especially in bilateral exchanges. Our new course responds to these needs and provides you with the opportunity to work together on current developments, best practices and challenges in the area of auditing. Benefit from the expertise of our speakers and feel free to ask questions!

4 New courses on functional test automation

Two new courses on functional test automation are planned for 2027. We are thus expanding our range of products and services to include a future topic of practical relevance and to shed light on current methods and specific use cases. These courses are still under development. We would particularly appreciate you sharing your experiences and suggestions. Which content and questions do you think we should take into consideration? Please contact us if you would like to play a role in shaping the design of the course.

International exchange and practical training

Our courses combine professional training with international exchange. You will receive practical impetus for your daily work and have the opportunity to network with colleagues from central banks worldwide. This generates new perspectives and specific approaches for tackling current challenges together.
