An internship with invaluable experience and insights Work placements

Hello, I am currently pursuing my Master's degree in Business Economics with Analytics from Athens University of Economics and Business. As part of my academic journey, I had the opportunity to undertake an internship at the Bundesbank, specifically within the Macroprudential Surveillance of Financial Markets Division.

During my internship, I was engaged in several key tasks that provided me with invaluable experience and insights into the financial sector. My primary responsibilities included working on sentiment analysis tasks and conducting predictive analysis to assess financial stability, using advanced statistical methods and machine learning algorithms to forecast potential risks and identify trends that could impact the financial markets.

My experience at the Bundesbank has been overwhelmingly positive. However as a non-German speaker, I found certain aspects of daily life to be quite challenging. Communication in informal settings was sometimes difficult due to language barriers. Additionally, some internal systems and communications were primarily in German. My team made me feel welcome, created a supportive and collaborative work environment and treated me with respect. The emphasis on work-life balance at the Bundesbank has set a high standard for my future career expectations.
