Internship at the Sustainability Hub
The Sustainability Hub is the central competence, strategy and coordination unit for Bundesbank’s sustainability and climate-related work.
While the Hub’s working language is English, the remainder of Bundesbank operates in German.
Valuable work: your role with us
- You will gain an insight into Bundesbank’s current work in the field of sustainability.
- You will support our experts in analyzing structural trends relevant for central banks, such as green and sustainable finance, physical climate risks, and biodiversity loss.
- You will support our experts in their contribution to international initiatives, including the Central Banks and Supervisors Network for Greening the Financial System (NGFS)
- You will analyze the economic relevance of current extreme weather events, latest insights from climate science and the interaction with economic and fiscal policy.
- In addition, you will be given the opportunity to help develop data-driven tools for monitoring and visualizing various sustainability trends.
Unique assets: your skills and qualifications
- Enrolled as a student in economics or finance
- Students from business, the natural sciences, political science, environmental studies, or a related field with a demonstrated background in economic topics are also welcome.
- At least in their 5th semester of undergraduate studies or enrolled in a relevant master’s program
- Demonstrated interest in sustainability, climate and fiscal policy trend, and the intersection of finance and environmental issues
- Basic knowledge of sustainable finance, ESG, or related regulatory frameworks is an asset.
- Proficiency in English (written and spoken) required, German language skills are an advantage.
