CCC, BDGW and Bundesbank: Cash supply remains assured

The cash supply provided by Germany's banks has been safeguarded. Bank customers need not fear any shortages in the supply of cash as a result of the insolvency of the cash-in-transit company Heros.

Representatives of the central associations of the banking industry and of the German monetary and security services association [Bundesvereinigung Deutscher Geld- und Wertdienste (BDGW)], which, in turn, are represented on the Central Credit Committee (CCC), held talks on 21 February to discuss ways of cushioning the effects of cancelled deliveries by the companies belonging to the Heros group.

The Bundesbank agreed a more flexible approach to opening hours and to arrangements for inpayments and outpayments at its branches.
