Ways of purchasing mint condition coins
Private individuals can purchase German-issued euro collectors' coins and €2 coins with a commemorative design in mint condition at their face value at branches of the Deutsche Bundesbank during their counter opening times from the respective issue date for as long as stocks last. Alternatively, private individuals can also contact their principal banker or other credit institutions participating in the Deutsche Bundesbank’s ordering procedure, or commercial coin dealers.
As demand for the €5 collector's coin "Temperate climate zone" is expected to be high, pri-vate individuals irrespective of their age may only purchase two coins per person per day at the branches of the Deutsche Bundesbank. Authorisations will not be accepted.
Credit institutions have the option of ordering German-issued euro collectors' coins and €2 coins with a commemorative design in mint condition in advance from their respective Bundesbank branch.
Because of the high demand for the €5 collectors' coin "Temperate climate zone" an alloca-tion had to be conducted accordingly. Under consideration of the disposal of whole rolls credit institutions obtain about 31% of their order quantities.
Commercial coin dealers
Commercial coin dealers have the option of ordering German-issued euro collectors' coins and €2 coins with a commemorative design in advance by the respective order deadline from the Bundesbank's Service Centre for Cash Management Logistics in Mainz. The first time you place an order, we ask that you submit a copy of either your trade licence or the extract from the commercial register showing that you are a coin trader. The coins have to be collected from our branch in Karlsruhe within six weeks of the issue date.
For the €5 collectors' coins it has to be considered that no complete sets containing coins from all five mints will be available for purchase and there is no entitlement to a specific mint mark. Because of the high demand for the €5 collector's coin "Temperate climate zone" an allocation had to be conducted accordingly. In agreement with the Federal Ministry of Finance the allocation to a commercial coin dealer was based on ordered and allocated German euro collector coins at the Deutsche Bundesbank during past three years.
