Welcome! Philipp Nimmermann has been appointed as the new Executive Board member of the Deutsche Bundesbank as of 1 November 2026. He has received his certificate of appointment from Bundesbank President Joachim Nagel. Mr Nimmermann most recently served as State Secretary at the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (previously called the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action). Prior to that, Mr Nimmerman, who has a PhD in economics, held roles including State Secretary at the Hessian Ministry for Economic Affairs, Energy, Transport and Housing. His appointment now brings the Bundesbank’s Executive Board back to full strength, at six members.
