Auf dem diesjährigen Europäischen Bankenkongress in Frankfurt sagte er, dass es die Risiken und Nebenwirkungen einer sehr expansiven Geldpolitik verschärfen würde, wenn die Zinsen über einen noch längeren Zeitraum niedrig gehalten würden.

    Bundesbankpräsident Jens Weidmann hat sich dafür ausgesprochen, bürokratische Hürden bei der Unternehmensgründung zu lockern. „Reformen, die den Markteintritt für neue Unternehmen erleichtern, würden auch den Wettbewerb fördern und die Innovationskraft ankurbeln“, sagte Weidmann bei einer Rede in Düsseldorf.

  • Martin Dinkelborg

    Martin Dinkelborg was appointed Director of Centre for Technical Central Bank Cooperation (CIC) in November 2013 after having been its Deputy Director for more than ten years. Since June 2016 he also chairs the ESCB IRC Task Force on Central Bank Cooperation. In his previous position he served as deputy head of the Human Resources Department in the Bundesbank’s regional office in Düsseldorf.

    Einführung der Europa-Serie

    Seit Mai 2013 führen die Europäische Zentralbank und die nationalen Zentralbanken des Eurosystems schrittweise eine zweite Euro-Banknotenserie ein. Eine Zeit lang werden Banknoten beider Serien im Umlauf sein. Das Eurosystem wird frühzeitig bekannt geben, ab wann die Banknoten der ersten Serie kein gesetzliches Zahlungsmittel mehr sein werden. Sie verlieren aber auch danach ihren Wert nicht. Die Deutsche Bundesbank wird die Banknoten der alten Serie unbefristet gegen neue Scheine der Europa-Serie umtauschen.

    In 2019, the Bank for International Settlements launched FRAME, an online repository of studies on the Basel III reforms. The latest update by Bundesbank and the Financial Stability Board outlines the impact of the G20’s too-big-to-fail reforms on banks’ funding costs, credit ratings and contingent claims.

  • Christine Lagarde

    Christine Lagarde ist die geschäftsführende Direktorin des IWF und die erste Frau in dieser Position. Sie ist seit Juli 2011 im Amt. Davor war Lagarde Mitglied der französischen Regierung – ab Juni 2005 als beigeordnete Ministerin für Außenhandel und danach ab Juni 2007 als Ministerin für Wirtschaft und Finanzen. Dieses Ressort verantwortete sie als erste Frau eines G7-Staates. Von Juli bis Dezember 2008 führte Lagarde den Vorsitz des ECOFIN-Rats. Nach Frankreichs Übernahme der G20-Präsidentschaft im Jahr 2011 legte sie in ihrer Funktion als Vorsitzende eine umfassende Agenda zur Reform des internationalen Währungssystems vor. Ihre berufliche Laufbahn begann Christine Lagarde in der internationalen Rechtsanwaltskanzlei Baker & McKenzie, wo sie 1999 den Vorsitz des Global Executive Committee übernahm und 2004 den des Global Strategic Committee. Im April 2012 wurde sie zum Offizier der französischen Ehrenlegion ernannt.

    Bundesbankpräsident Jens Weidmann ist seit dem 1. November 2015 Vorsitzender des Verwaltungsrats der BIZ. Das Gremium legt die strategische und geschäftspolitische Ausrichtung der Organisation fest. Außerdem überwacht es die Geschäftsleitung der BIZ.

    The so-called Blessing letter, dated 30 March 1967, forms part of the correspondence between the President of the Deutsche Bundesbank at the time, Karl Blessing, and the then Chairman of the Board of Governors of the US Federal Reserve System, William Martin. Blessing addresses US concerns that the Bundesbank might convert US dollars into gold on a massive scale.
