Digitaler Euro könnte zunächst für Ansässige im Euroraum, Händler und Regierungen verfügbar gemacht werden. Bereitgestellt werden könnte der digitale Euro über bestehende Banking-Apps und eine Eurosystem-App. Offline-Zahlungen und Zahlungen zwischen Privatpersonen im gesamten Euroraum werden als wichtig angesehen.

After three quarters of decline, households’ financial assets grew in the fourth quarter of 2022, standing at €7,254 billion at the end of the year. Households’ claims increased by a total of €68 billion. Following three quarters of significant valuation losses, valuation gains were recorded again, amounting to €43 billion in total.

From 3 May to 10 September 2023, the Historical Museum Frankfurt, in cooperation with the Bundesbank’s Money Museum, will host the exhibition “Inflation 1923. War, Money, Trauma”. The exhibition explores the diverse consequences of the great devaluation in 1923. Through the media of artistic and literary testimonies, the exhibition showcases people’s experience with hyperinflation, taking Frankfurt as an example.
