Die Europäische Zentralbank (EZB) hat heute ihren Finanzstabilitätsbericht vom Mai 2024 veröffentlicht. Dem Bericht zufolge profitiert die Finanzstabilität im Euroraum von den verbesserten Konjunkturaussichten. So sinkt die Inflation kontinuierlich, und das Vertrauen der Anleger erholt sich.

The Deutsche Bundesbank plans to forgo the construction of new office buildings on its Central Office premises in Frankfurt am Main. Its forthcoming new strategy for the Frankfurt location will encompass the Bundesbank’s Regional Office buildings in the city centre.

Das Brutto-Emissionsvolumen am deutschen Rentenmarkt lag im März mit 123,7 Mrd € unter dem Niveau des Vormonats (147,2 Mrd €). Nach Abzug der Tilgungen und bei Berücksichtigung der Eigenbestandsveränderungen der Emittenten wurden im Ergebnis heimische Rentenwerte für 14,9 Mrd € begeben.

Germany’s current account recorded a surplus of €27.6 billion in March 2024, down €1.1 billion on the previous month’s level. This was mainly attributable to a lower surplus in invisible current transactions, which comprise services as well as primary and secondary income.

The consolidation process in the German banking sector, which has been in progress for many years now, continued in 2023 – albeit at a somewhat slower pace than in previous years. 

This year’s Spring Conference held by the Bundesbank’s Research Centre focused on “Structural changes and the implications for inflation”. A large number of researchers from central banks, universities and other institutions based in Germany and abroad met in Eltville to discuss this topic. Bundesbank President Joachim Nagel spoke in a video message. 

The Bundesbank’s stand at the Europe Festival in Frankfurt am Main attracted a large number of visitors to the Römerhallen. The stand was also where the Bundesbank’s Executive Board, Frankfurt’s Mayor Mike Josef, President of Frankfurt Main Finance Gerhard Wiesheu, as well as City Treasurer Bastian Berghoff and Councillor Eileen O’Sullivan, gathered to make a joint statement for a cosmopolitan Europe and an appeal for citizens to vote in the European elections on 9 June 2024.
