Die Europäische Zentralbank (EZB) präsentierte heute die neuen 100-€- und 200-€-Banknoten, die ab dem 28. Mai 2019 in Umlauf gebracht werden. Mit der Inverkehrgabe dieser beiden Banknoten wird die Europa-Serie vollständig sein. Sie setzt sich aus den Stückelungen 5 €, 10 €, 20 €, 50 €, 100 € und 200 € zusammen.

The German economy made a weak start to the third quarter following fairly robust growth in the spring. According to the Bundesbank’s latest Monthly Report, this was mainly due to a substantial fall in production by car manufacturers. However, the Monthly Report points out that the German economic upswing is essentially intact.

The results of the payments statistics for 2017 show that payments are becoming more digital and are increasingly made within Europe. More than 21 billion non-cash payments were made in Germany last year – around 3% more than the year before. These payments were executed on approximately 103 million current accounts. The average balance on these accounts thus rose by almost 12% to around €13,000.

Die Gesamtzahl bargeldloser Zahlungsvorgänge in der EU ist 2017 im Vergleich zum Vorjahr um 7,9 % auf 134 Milliarden gestiegen. 52 % aller Transaktionen sind Kartenzahlungen, 24 % Überweisungen und 19 % Lastschriften. Die Anzahl der ausgegebenen Karten (812 Millionen) entspricht rund 1,6 Zahlungskarten je EU-Bürger. Rund 57 Milliarden Transaktionen im Wert von 44,0 Billionen € wurden über Massenzahlungssysteme in der EU abgewickelt.

Digital payments are on the rise in Germany. In 2017, more than 21 billion cashless payments were made in Germany. There was an especially large increase in the number of card payments.
