Auch als Emissionswährung von Schuldverschreibungen gewann der Euro an Bedeutung, während seine Rolle als Fakturierungswährung stabil blieb. Politische Maßnahmen zur Vertiefung der Wirtschafts- und Währungsunion (WWU) tragen wesentlich dazu bei, dass die internationale Verwendung des Euro weiter zunimmt.
