The financial assets of households in Germany stood at €5,875 billion at the end of the first quarter of 2018. Compared with the fourth quarter of 2017, this represents just a moderate increase of €14 billion, or 0.2%. In the first quarter, claims on insurance corporations grew in particular (€22 billion), followed by currency and deposits, which saw inflows totalling just under €15 billion.

Hoher Nettoabsatz am deutschen Rentenmarkt im Mai 2018
Im Mai 2018 fiel das Emissionsvolumen am deutschen Rentenmarkt mit einem Bruttoabsatz von 102,9 Mrd € geringer aus als im Vormonat (128,4 Mrd €). Nach Abzug der gesunkenen Tilgungen und unter Berücksichtigung der Eigenbestandsveränderungen der Emittenten wurden inländische Schuldverschreibungen für netto 20,3 Mrd € begeben. Der Umlauf ausländischer Schuldverschreibungen in Deutschland stieg im Berichtsmonat um 0,5 Mrd €, sodass der Umlauf von Schuldtiteln am deutschen Markt insgesamt um 20,8 Mrd € zunahm.
