Unchanged global climate policies will cost India 19% and world 15% of GDP by 2050 Interview with The Economic Times
“If the world keeps its current policies unchanged, global temperatures are expected to rise by three degrees Celsius (on average). And this could cost India roughly 19 % of GDP by 2050, compared to a world without climate change,” First Deputy Governor of the Deutsche Bundesbank Sabine Mauderer said in an interview with Indian newspaper “The Economic Times”. She also spoke about the global economic impact of climate change and the work of the Network for Greening the Financial System (NGFS).

Euro20+: Lots of questions for two central bank heads

On 29 and 30 November, the Bundesbank invited young people between the ages of 18 and 30 to its sixth Euro20+. Held in Frankfurt am Main, the highlights of the event were the two town hall meetings with Bundesbank President Joachim Nagel and Swiss National Bank Chairman Martin Schlegel. Many of the 200 participants took the opportunity to ask questions on topics such as what is currently happening in the economy, the progress being made with the digital transformation, the state of affairs for monetary policy in the euro area and in Switzerland, and pensions.

On 24 and 25 November, the Bundesbank held its fifth Euro20+ event in Frankfurt am Main, inviting young people between the ages of 18 and 30 to discuss key economic policy and social issues with ECB President Christine Lagarde and Bundesbank President Joachim Nagel, amongst other guests.
