The Bundesbank is expanding its reform proposals for central government’s debt brake, laying out a stability-oriented path towards increased government investment. It is thus presenting a concept that supports the necessary measures to strengthen infrastructure and defence whilst ensuring sustainable public finances over the long term, in line with European rules. 

Die Netto-Auslandsposition Deutschlands belief sich Ende 2013 auf 1 204 Mrd €. Sie betrug damit fast 43 % in Relation zum Bruttoinlandsprodukt. Im Vergleich zum Vorjahr erhöhte sich die deutsche Netto-Vermögensposition gegenüber dem Ausland um 251 Mrd €. Der Anstieg reflektiert in erster Linie den Leistungsbilanzüberschuss Deutschlands im vergangenen Jahr. Anders als in den Vorjahren vollzog sich die Zunahme vor dem Hintergrund rückläufiger Bruttobestände.
