Die Netto-Auslandsposition Deutschlands belief sich Ende 2013 auf 1 204 Mrd €. Sie betrug damit fast 43 % in Relation zum Bruttoinlandsprodukt. Im Vergleich zum Vorjahr erhöhte sich die deutsche Netto-Vermögensposition gegenüber dem Ausland um 251 Mrd €. Der Anstieg reflektiert in erster Linie den Leistungsbilanzüberschuss Deutschlands im vergangenen Jahr. Anders als in den Vorjahren vollzog sich die Zunahme vor dem Hintergrund rückläufiger Bruttobestände.

One of the Bundesbank's tasks is to collect monetary, financial and external sector statistical data, comprehensive sets of indicators and seasonally adjusted business statistics. For macroeconomic analysis relevant data are then fed into the macroeconomic time series published in the time series databases.
