The aims of Germany's G7 presidency

Until the end of 2015, Germany has assumed the presidency of the gatherings of the G7, the seven most advanced industrial countries in the world. During this time, the sessions of the G7 finance ministers and central bank governors will be chaired by Bundesbank President Jens Weidmann and Federal Finance Minister Wolfgang Schäuble.

Germany’s international investment position at the end of 2016
Germany’s net international investment position stood at €1,709 billion at the end of 2016, thus amounting to around 54% of nominal gross domestic product. Year-on-year, the German net external asset position thereby increased by €231 billion.
