SRP — SREP and ICAAP, off- and on-site banking supervision

Objective

This course is designed to provide off- and on-site banking supervisors with an understanding of how off-site or line supervision and on-site inspections are carried out at the Deutsche Bundesbank. The course will also introduce and illustrate the European and German supervisory review process (SREP and ICAAP/ILAAP).

It will focus on risk-based supervision. The Bundesbank’s supervisory experts will provide background policy information and share hands-on experience in implementing Pillar 2 of the Basel Framework (e.g. for credit, market or operational risk). The course will include interactive sessions in which participants will be invited to give short presentations about specific aspects of supervisory processes in their home country and share their experiences. In this way, they will receive a broad overview of the variety of national individual supervisory approaches.
