Internship in the “Macroeconomic Analysis and Projections” Division

The “Macroeconomic Analysis and Projections” Division analyses and forecasts macroeconomic developments in Germany, contributes to the macroeconomic forecasts for the euro area and examines structural aspects of the German economy. The internship is based in the“Strukturgruppe”, which focuses on analysing the supply-side factors for growth, i.e. the formation of physical capital, labour supply and technological progress. In addition, the group investigates the medium to long-term effects of structural changes (particularly decarbonisation, digitalisation, demographic change, and shifts in international economic relations) on labour and goods markets. Additionally, economists of the group regularly analyse the profitability and financing conditions of non-financial firms in Germany as well as their involvement in international trade. This provides an overall picture of Germany’s economic structure, including its interdependencies with the global economy.
