€500 banknotes of the 1st series

The German government has decided to mint a €2 commemorative coin entitled “Konrad Adenauer” scheduled to be issued on 8 January 2026. The coin is in honour of Konrad Adenauer (1876–1967), the first Chancellor of the Federal Republic of Germany. It is the second coin to be issued in the “Unity and Justice and Freedom” series. Each year, a new €2 commemorative coin honouring politicians whose actions particularly shaped the history of the Federal Republic of Germany will be issued.

The latest event in the Bundesbank Invited Speakers Series saw Stanford University professor Darrell Duffie and Bundesbank Executive Board member Fritzi Köhler-Geib discuss the role that payment systems play in demand for central bank reserves. Their conversation also focused on structural change in the financial system as well as the impact of digital innovations on monetary policy and financial stability.

The nominal effective exchange rates of the euro condense bilateral exchange rates against multiple countries into a single index. As an aggregate, they capture changes in euro exchange rates against various groups of currencies of key trading partners.

The German government has decided to mint a €10 collector coin entitled ““Emergency services”, which is scheduled for issue on 23 April 2026.
