The mission statement expresses the Bundesbank’s defining features, how it interprets its mandate and the future vision it aspires to.

The strategy sets out in a binding manner how the Bundesbank intends to fulfil its mandate and forms the basis for its new steering model.

The branches of the Bundesbank supply the economy with euro banknotes and coins, and offers private customers the opportunity to exchange D-Mark banknotes and coins free-of-charge and with no fixed deadline.

As before, there was only a slight quarter-on-quarter change in firms’ expectations over the next 12 months. In the first quarter of 2025, somewhat more firms expected a decrease in short-term liquidity (31%; previous quarter: 30%) than an increase (17%; previous quarter: 15%). Compared with the fourth quarter of 2024, the gap between these two groups thus narrowed by one percentage point to 14%. 

Am 19. Dezember 2024 verabschiedete der EZB-Rat eine Neuregelung für die Übersetzung der im Wirtschaftsbericht enthaltenen Kästen in die Sprachen des Euroraums. Es ist den zuständigen nationalen Zentralbanken fortan selbst überlassen, ob sie die Kästen übersetzen oder nicht. 

Through its academic survey, the Research Centre of the Deutsche Bundesbank is obtaining a picture of the current situation among firms in Germany and gaining greater insight into their expectations for the coming months. Over time, the survey also provides crucial information on changes within the corporate sector.

Die Erwartungen der Umfrageteilnehmerinnen und -teilnehmer für die am Harmonisierten Verbraucherpreisindex (HVPI) gemessene Gesamtinflation lagen für 2025 bei 2,1 %, für 2026 bei 1,9 % und für 2027 bei 2,0 %. Damit wurden die Erwartungen für 2025 gegenüber der im vierten Quartal 2024 durchgeführten Umfrage um 0,2 Prozentpunkte nach oben revidiert, während die Erwartungen für 2026 unverändert blieben.
