Der zusammengesetzte Indikator der Kreditfinanzierungskosten für neue Kredite an Unternehmen blieb im Juli 2017 weitgehend unverändert bei 1,74 %. Der zusammengesetzte Indikator der Kreditfinanzierungskosten für neue Wohnungsbaukredite an private Haushalte blieb im Juli mit 1,88 % ebenfalls Großen und Ganzen stabil. Der zusammengesetzte Zinssatz für neue Einlagen von Unternehmen im Euroraum stieg im Berichtsmonat an, während jener für neue Einlagen privater Haushalte so gut wie keine Veränderung aufwies.

German households’ return on real financial assets low but positive

In the current low-interest-rate environment the low deposit rates for German savers are a frequent topic of debate. However, households also have other financial assets at their disposal besides deposits. Taking these into account along with the loss of purchasing power due to inflation, households achieved a real total return of 1.9% in the first quarter of 2017 according to the August Monthly Report.
