The consolidation process in the German banking sector, which has been in progress for many years now, continued in 2023 – albeit at a somewhat slower pace than in previous years.

This year’s Spring Conference held by the Bundesbank’s Research Centre focused on “Structural changes and the implications for inflation”. A large number of researchers from central banks, universities and other institutions based in Germany and abroad met in Eltville to discuss this topic. Bundesbank President Joachim Nagel spoke in a video message.

Das Direktorium der Europäischen Zentralbank (EZB) hat Alain Busac zum Generaldirektor Informationssysteme ernannt. In seiner neuen Funktion wird Herr Busac die digitale Transformation der EZB steuern, wichtige Modernisierungsprojekte in der Informationstechnologie durchführen und dafür sorgen, dass die strengen Cybersicherheitsmaßnahmen der EZB aufrechterhalten werden.
