Banking supervision in Germany is carried out by the Bundesbank in cooperation with the Federal Financial Supervisory Authority and the Federal Ministry of Finance as well as external auditors and audit offices of the banking associations.

Die Jahreswachstumsrate der weit gefassten Geldmenge M3 verringerte sich im Mai 2022 auf 5,6 % nach 6,1 % im April 2022 (korrigiert von 6,0 %).

Writing in its latest Annual Economic Report, the Bank for International Settlements (BIS) has warned that the global economy risks entering a new era of high inflation. “The key for central banks is to act quickly and decisively before inflation becomes entrenched,” says Agustín Carstens, General Manager of the BIS.
