The Deutsche Bundesbank is the independent central bank of the Federal Republic of Germany. Eurosystem monetary policy is the Bundesbank's core business area. Other core business areas include the financial and monetary system, banking supervision, cashless payments and cash operations.

Seit rund 20 Jahren gibt es den Euro als Bargeld. An den historischen Moment der Währungsumstellung erinnert nun eine Ausstellung unter freiem Himmel. Die Ausstellung startet in München und wandert danach durch weitere große Städte in ganz Deutschland.

Die Leistungsbilanz wies im Juli 2021 wie bereits im Vormonat einen Überschuss von 22 Mrd € auf. Der Leistungsbilanzüberschuss belief sich in den zwölf Monaten bis Juli 2021 auf 320 Mrd €; er war damit höher als der Überschuss von 232 Mrd € im vorangegangenen Zwölfmonatszeitraum.
