    Die Jahreswachstumsrate der weit gefassten Geldmenge M3 stieg von 4,6 % im April 2016 auf 4,9 % im Mai. Die jährliche Zuwachsrate des enger gefassten Geldmengenaggregats M1, welches den Bargeldumlauf und die täglich fälligen Einlagen enthält, betrug im Berichtsmonat 9,1 % gegenüber 9,7 % im April. Die Jahreswachstumsrate der Buchkredite an private Haushalte lag im Mai bei 1,6 % nach 1,5 % im Vormonat. Die Vorjahrsrate der Buchkredite an nichtfinanzielle Kapitalgesellschaften belief sich im Berichtsmonat auf 1,4 %, verglichen mit 1,2 % im April.

Ferner legt der Bericht die aufsichtlichen Erwartungen dar und gelangt zu dem Ergebnis, dass viele Banken im Euroraum Verbesserungen in beiden Bereichen vornehmen müssen, um den internationalen Best Practices zu entsprechen:

    • Die meisten Banken müssen die Qualität der Beratungen im Leitungsorgan sowie dessen Fähigkeit, die Geschäftsführung unabhängig und kritisch zu prüfen, verbessern.
    • Bei vielen Banken müssen das kollektive Wissen des Leitungsorgans vertieft, dessen Unabhängigkeit gestärkt und die Zuständigkeiten besser verteilt werden.
