German balance of payments in March 2024
Germany’s current account recorded a surplus of €27.6 billion in March 2024, down €1.1 billion on the previous month’s level. This was mainly attributable to a lower surplus in invisible current transactions, which comprise services as well as primary and secondary income.

Das Brutto-Emissionsvolumen am deutschen Rentenmarkt lag im März mit 123,7 Mrd € unter dem Niveau des Vormonats (147,2 Mrd €). Nach Abzug der Tilgungen und bei Berücksichtigung der Eigenbestandsveränderungen der Emittenten wurden im Ergebnis heimische Rentenwerte für 14,9 Mrd € begeben.

The Bundesbank’s stand at the Europe Festival in Frankfurt am Main attracted a large number of visitors to the Römerhallen. The stand was also where the Bundesbank’s Executive Board, Frankfurt’s Mayor Mike Josef, President of Frankfurt Main Finance Gerhard Wiesheu, as well as City Treasurer Bastian Berghoff and Councillor Eileen O’Sullivan, gathered to make a joint statement for a cosmopolitan Europe and an appeal for citizens to vote in the European elections on 9 June 2024.

€11 collectors’ coin “UEFA European Football Championship 2024”
The German government has decided to mint an €11 collectors’ coin entitled “UEFA European Football Championship 2024,” scheduled for issue on 8 May 2024. The coin features one of the world’s most popular major sporting events, the European Football Championship, which will be held in the Federal Republic of Germany in 2024, for the first time since Germany’s reunification.
