Der zusammengesetzte Zinssatz für neue Einlagen von Unternehmen im Euroraum wies im Berichtsmonat mit 0,11 % keinerlei Veränderung auf, während jener für neue Einlagen privater Haushalte mit 0,35 % im Wesentlichen konstant blieb.

Der Verein für Socialpolitik (VfS) vergibt alle zwei Jahre im Rahmen seiner Jahrestagung den Carl-Menger-Preis für innovative internationale Forschungsleistungen auf den Gebieten der monetären Makroökonomie, Geldpolitik und Währungspolitik.
Der nach dem österreichischen Ökonomen und Mitbegründer der Österreichischen Schule benannte Carl-Menger-Preis wird von der Deutschen Bundesbank, der Oesterreichischen Nationalbank sowie der Schweizerischen Nationalbank gemeinsam gestiftet und ist mit 20.000,- Euro dotiert.

Bundesbank President Jens Weidmann has called for further reform steps in Europe. "Much has been done – in the member states as well as at the European level," Weidmann said in Athens. Despite this progress, there is still need for further action, he said.
