2020 wurden etwa 460 000 gefälschte Euro-Banknoten aus dem Verkehr gezogen, 220 000 davon im zweiten Halbjahr. Gegenüber 2019 stellt dies einen Rückgang um 17,7 % dar.

The exhibition "Geldmacher" (Money maker) is open to visitors to the Money Museum until 25 February 2018. No fewer than 300,000 banknotes printed by Frankfurt artist Michael Riedel are on display. This is the first time an exhibition organised by the Bundesbank has been made accessible to the general public.

As in previous years, the Bundesbank will be taking part in this year’s Frankfurt Book Fair, which will be held from 11 to 15 October. The Bundesbank is organising a programme for children, coin collectors and banknote buffs, and this year, there will be something for film fans, too. The Bundesbank celebrated its 60th anniversary by hosting an open day in Frankfurt am Main on 1 and 2 July. Around 28,000 visitors eager to gather their own impressions of the Bundesbank flocked to the bank’s Central Office and its Regional Office in Hesse to experience a rich variety of informative and entertaining attractions.
