Die Deutsche Bundesbank hat im Jahr 2023 in Deutschland rund 56.600 falsche Euro-Banknoten im Nennwert von 5,1 Millionen Euro im deutschen Zahlungsverkehr registriert. Damit erhöhte sich die Anzahl der Fälschungen gegenüber dem Vorjahr um 28,2 Prozent.

Die Broschüre stellt alle Banknoten der Europa-Serie von 5 Euro bis 200 Euro und deren Sicherheitsmerkmale vor. Gemeinsamkeiten und Unterschiede zur ersten Euro-Serie werden dargestellt. Zudem wird über die geplante dritte Banknotenserie informiert.
