Am 6. Juli 2022 ernannte der EZB-Rat Doris Schneeberger (Direktorin Banknoten der EZB) zur Vorsitzenden des Banknotenausschusses (BANCO), Eva Murciano (Generaldirektorin Personal der EZB) zur Vorsitzenden der Personalleiterkonferenz (HRC) und Oscar Arce (Generaldirektor Volkswirtschaft der EZB) zum Vorsitzenden des Geldpolitischen Ausschusses (MPC).

In the second year of the pandemic, the number of card transactions reported by payment service providers in Germany rose again significantly compared with the previous year, increasing by 10% to more than 8 billion payments.

Für das dritte Quartal 2022 revidierten die Umfrageteilnehmer ihre Inflationserwartungen für alle Zeithorizonte nach oben. Für 2022, 2023 und 2024 liegen die Erwartungen bei 7,3 %, 3,6 % bzw. 2,1 % und damit um 1,3, 1,2 bzw. 0,2 Prozentpunkte höher als in der vorangegangenen Umfrage.

Die Europäische Zentralbank (EZB) hat heute Statistiken zum bargeldlosen Zahlungsverkehr für das Jahr 2021 veröffentlicht. Diese enthalten Indikatoren für den Zugang zu und die Nutzung von Zahlungsdienstleistungen und -terminals durch die Öffentlichkeit.

Der EZB-Rat hat heute das Instrument zur Absicherung der Transmission (Transmission Protection Instrument – TPI) genehmigt. Nach Einschätzung des EZB-Rats ist die Einrichtung des TPI erforderlich, um die effektive Transmission der Geldpolitik zu unterstützen.

Cash continues to be the most frequently used means of payment in Germany, although cashless payments are increasing their share. These are the findings of the Bundesbank’s sixth study on payment behaviour in Germany for 2021. Respondents used banknotes and coins to make a total of 58% of their payments for purchases of goods and services, compared with 74% in the Bundesbank’s last major study from 2017. The lower use of cash was mainly due to the increase in online purchases during the coronavirus pandemic.
