Comment on 2022 In a press release dated 7 March 2022, the Central Bank of Sri Lanka announced a comprehensive package of meas ures to stabilise the economic situation, allowing, amongst other things, more flexible exchange rates. As a result, the Sri Lanka rupee was devalued in several stages. Based on the exchange rates from the end of February and the end of March 2022, the Sri Lanka rupee depreciated by 31.7% against the euro (calculated on the basis of the middle rates).
