General On 8 April 1993, Macedonia was admitted to the United Nations under the temporary designation "the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia". With the entering into force of the Prespa Agreement on 12 February 2019, the earlier, provisional name of the country has been changed to "North Macedonia". Currency conversion with effect from 10 May 1993 at the rate of 100 Macedonian denar (old) = 1 Macedonian denar (new). We recorded the following exchange rates (buying/selling/middle rate): 15 May 1993: DEM 100 = MKD 1,290.2142 / 1,297.9788 / 1,294.09650 Listed against the euro as of January 1999, see BBEX3:A:MKD:EUR:CA:AC:A04.
