General With effect from 1 January 1995, a currency changeover took place at the ratio of 10,000 (old) Polish zloty (PLZ) = 1 (new) Polish zloty (PLN); the (old) Polish zloty also remained legal tender in this ratio until the end of 1996. Exchange rates as of January 1995, see BBEX3.M.PLN.DEM.CA.AC.A01.

Comment on 1992-02 With effect from 26 February 1992, the exchange rates were adjusted sharply. We recorded the following exchange rates (buying/selling rate): 25 February 1992: DEM 1 = PLZ 7,112 / 7,184 26 February 1992: DEM 1 = PLZ 7,985 / 8,065 On the basis of the above-mentioned rates, the Polish zloty depreciated by 10.9%.
Comment on 1991-05 With effect from 17 May 1991, the exchange rates were adjusted sharply. We recorded the following exchange rates (buying/selling rate): 16 May 1991: DEM 1 = PLZ 5,577 / 5,633 17 May 1991: DEM 1 = PLZ 6,513 / 6,579 On the basis of the above-mentioned rates, the Polish zloty depreciated by 14.4%.
