Comment on 1994 On 27 January 1994, the exchange rates were adjusted more sharply. We recorded the following exchange rates (buying/selling). 26 January 1994: DEM 1 = TRL 8,638.15 / 8,655.46, 27 January 1994: DEM 1 = TRL 9,865.62 / 9,885.39. Calculated devaluation: 12.4%. From 5 to 11 April 1994, Turkey experienced sharp exchange rate fluctuations. After depreciating sharply on both 6 and 7 April 1994, the Turkish pound recovered to some extent over the following two days. For 5 to 11 April 1994, we recorded the following exchange rates (buying/selling): 5 April 1994: DEM 1 = TRL 13,552.13 / 13,579.29, 6 April 1994: DEM 1 = TRL 18,883.65 / 18,921.49, 7 April 1994: DEM 1 = TRL 23,244.76 / 23,291.34, 8 April 1994: DEM 1 = TRL 21,559.53 / 21,602.74, 11 April 1994: DEM 1 = TRL 19,595.23 / 19,634.50. Calculated using the exchange rates from 5 and 11 April 1994 the Turkish pound was devalued by 30.8%.
