With effect from 1 March 2021, selling rates for the Suriname dollar against the US dollar have been anchored within a pre-defined band, to which commercial banks and bureaux de change are required to adhere. The minimum rate is now the current selling rate of USD 1 = SRD 14.290. However, over the course of March, the exchange rates, in fact, trended towards the maximum permissible selling rate of USD 1 = SRD 16.300. In the light of this, we will be reporting the central bank's maximum rates at month-end until further notice. The first of the euro exchange rates (buying/selling) published by the central bank since the arrangement came into force are as follows: 2 March 2021: EUR 1 = SRD 16.896 / SRD 17.224 (minimum rates) EUR 1 = SRD 19.273 / SRD 19.646 (maximum rates). |
