Valuable work: your role with us

  • You will actively shape the functional development of digital central bank money (wCBDC) and thus advance the digital transformation of payments in the European context.
  • Your focus will be on analysing and structuring complex requirements in payments and financial market infrastructures and translating them into objectives, process designs, functional specifications and consistent functional and technical solution concepts.
  • You will support the implementation of these solution concepts in close cooperation with development teams and ensure the functional consistency of solutions.
  • Building on this, you will develop foundations for decision-making, management documents, presentations and briefings, and provide management-level support for strategic issues.
  • You will structure and lead work packages, monitor progress and develop roadmaps for national and international projects.
  • In addition, you will participate in national and international committees, coordinate alignments with stakeholders, prepare content tailored to the target audience and represent the Bundesbank externally.
  • Furthermore, you will be involved in designing regulatory, contractual and financial framework conditions and will incorporate technological aspects into the further development of the solutions.
  • You will also be involved in test, validation and quality assurance processes and will help ensure the end-to-end functionality of solutions.

Unique assets: your skills and qualifications

  • Master’s degree or equivalent in a field relevant to the position (e.g. information technology, mathematics or economics)
  • At least two years of professional experience in the field of IT solutions or payments would be an advantage
  • Very good knowledge of innovative technologies, e.g. in the area of distributed ledger technology (DLT), tokenisation and artificial intelligence (AI)
  • Sound knowledge of payments, securities settlement and of Europe’s financial market infrastructure
  • Very good knowledge of creating functional specifications, objectives and requirements as well as translating specialised requirements into consistent functional and technical solution concepts and implementing them in collaboration with development teams
  • Very good knowledge of implementing international projects as well as working with external stakeholders and coordinating complex specialised content with various stakeholders
  • Knowledge of specialised monitoring of test, validation or quality assurance processes
  • Strong analytical and conceptual skills
  • Powers of persuasion and negotiation skills
  • Self-confident and diplomatic manner, especially when working in a multicultural environment
  • Ability to organise work tasks independently and autonomously
  • Very good English and good German communication skills

Remuneration and prospects

Remuneration that corresponds to pay grade E 13 of the wage agreement for the public sector (Tarifvertrag für den öffentlichen Dienst – TVöD) (approximately €63,500 to €91,700, depending on your level of experience), supplementary old-age provision, future-oriented public sector job offering reliable working conditions, international working environment, opportunity to gain civil servant status or maintain existing civil servant status (up to A 15), extensive range of training opportunities
