Negotiated wages rose sharply in September. Special effects are fading
Negotiated wages overall increased by 4.0 % yoy in September, after having decreased by 1.3 % in the previous month. The significant collective agreements with permanent wage increases from 2024 and partially 2025 are having a delayed effect and are now more noticeable. This is because the negative base effects of the discontinued high inflation compensation bonuses are now losing significance. Negotiated wages in the services sector were raised more significantly by 4.8 % compared to the previous year than in the manufacturing sector (+ 1.8 %).
Base wages for the total economy increased sharply by 4.8 % in September compared to the previous year, following the same 4.8 % increase in the previous month.
