Le président de la Bundesbank, Jens Weidmann, demande que les titres d’emprunt publics soient couverts, dans les comptes annuels des banques, par des fonds propres, à l’instar de la réglementation existant pour les obligations privées. Dans un discours prononcé en anglais à Sciences Po à Paris, il a par ailleurs estimé qu’il serait peut-être encore plus important de plafonner les créances détenues par une banque vis-à-vis d’un État individuel. "Les dispositions relatives aux grands risques doivent aussi s’appliquer aux crédits que les banques accordent aux États" a indiqué M. Weidmann.

The European Central Bank and the national central banks of the Eurosystem began rolling out a second series of euro banknotes in May 2013. For a time, banknotes from both series will be circulating side by side. The Eurosystem will give advance notice of the date from which banknotes from the first series will cease to be legal tender. But even after that date, the old €50 notes won't be worthless. The Deutsche Bundesbank will exchange them for new Europa series notes indefinitely.
