German balance of payments in March 2026
Germany’s current account recorded a surplus of €23.6 billion in March 2026. This was €3.1 billion up on the previous month’s level. The goods account surplus decreased, but the surplus in invisible current transactions, which comprise services as well as primary and secondary income, increased more strongly.

2026 – Konrad Adenauer
The German government has decided to mint a €2 commemorative coin entitled “Konrad Adenauer” scheduled to be issued on 8 January 2026. The coin is in honour of Konrad Adenauer (1876–1967), the first Chancellor of the Federal Republic of Germany. It is the second coin to be issued in the “Unity and Justice and Freedom” series. Each year, a new €2 commemorative coin honouring politicians whose actions particularly shaped the history of the Federal Republic of Germany will be issued.
