Within the framework of banking statistics, information on the assets and liabilities of all monetary financial institutions (MFIs) in Germany is collected on a monthly basis. In addition, more detailed information on important balance sheet items is obtained through quarterly surveys.

The MACCs documentation contains important information on the submission of debtor and rating data as well as on the submission and administration of credit claims. 

Month-end external assets and liabilities of domestic banks, their foreign branches and foreign subsidiaries broken down by country and currency as well as by category, maturity and sector of the respective creditors and debtors. Month-end foreign currency positions vis-à-vis residents (supplementary form FW) of domestic banks.

All counterparties have two options for submitting credit claims and debtor data: the online procedure and the file-transfer procedure. There is also a backup procedure for both types of submission.
