With its electronic access for credit institutions, which is based on the Electronic Banking Internet Communication Standard (EBICS), the Deutsche Bundesbank offers a communication channel based on accepted protocols and standards which is capable of processing the growing data volumes in the data exchange between payment service providers with bank sort code efficiently, securely and cost-effectively.

The Bundesbank’s Executive Board has made a policy decision regarding the central bank’s future location: the Bundesbank is planning to buy a property in Frankfurt that will serve as the site of its Central Office. This decision was preceded by a cost-efficiency assessment conducted by the Bundesbank with external support.
