The Deutsche Bundesbank is the independent central bank of the Federal Republic of Germany. Eurosystem monetary policy is the Bundesbank's core business area. Other core business areas include the financial and monetary system, banking supervision, cashless payments and cash operations.

Der Rat der Europäischen Zentralbank (EZB) hat sich auf eine neue geldpolitische Strategie verständigt. Kern der Strategie ist ein neues Inflationsziel. Künftig zielt der EZB-Rat auf eine Inflationsrate von mittelfristig 2 Prozent ab. Die neue Strategie enthält darüber hinaus Eckpunkte zur Berücksichtigung von Klimarisiken.
