Der Bruttoabsatz am deutschen Rentenmarkt lag im Januar 2021 mit 159,4 Mrd € deutlich über dem Wert des Vormonats (83,2 Mrd €). Unter Berücksichtigung gestiegener Tilgungen und von Eigenbestandsveränderungen der Emittenten stieg der Umlauf inländischer Rentenpapiere um 27,4 Mrd €, nach einem Rückgang von 38,4 Mrd € im Dezember 2020. Der Umlauf ausländischer Titel am deutschen Markt erhöhte sich um 20,1 Mrd €, sodass der Umlauf von in- und ausländischen Schuldverschreibungen in Deutschland im Januar im Ergebnis um 47,5 Mrd € anstieg.

Germany’s current account recorded a surplus of €16.9 billion in January 2021, down €8.9 billion from the previous month’s level. This was primarily due to the decline in the surplus for invisible current transactions – which comprise not only services but also primary and secondary income – but also to the narrower surplus in the goods account.
