Persistently low interest rates pose risks to financial stability, warn Bundesbank Deputy President Claudia Buch and Executive Board member Andreas Dombret at the press conference to unveil the Bundesbank's 2015 Financial Stability Review. This, they caution, applies particularly to banks and insurers.

Bundesbank Executive Board member Joachim Nagel has spoken out in favour of disclosing the contents of the Agreement on Net Financial Assets (Anfa). The agreement sets balance-sheet ceilings for financial non-monetary policy operations on the part of Eurosystem national central banks. In a two-part interview with the German business daily Börsen Zeitung, Dr Nagel commented that monetary financing of the public sector was to be prevented at all costs.

Exceptionally low interest rates remain a salient feature of the financial system setting in Germany. They reflect the global low real economic growth and expansionary monetary policy stance.

Gemäß der Berichtspflichten der ESZB-Satzung wird von der Europäischen Zentralbank (EZB) wöchentlich ein konsolidierter Ausweis des Eurosystems veröffentlicht. Dieser soll den Nutzern als Informationsquelle im Zusammenhang mit den geldpolitischen Operationen, den Devisengeschäften und der Investitionstätigkeit dienen. Zudem sind darin Angaben über die Liquiditätsströme enthalten.

Die Teilnehmer der Veranstaltung "Weidmann trifft Schülerinnen und Schüler" hatten viele Fragen an den Bundesbankpräsidenten. Dabei ging es unter anderem um Falschgeld, Geldpolitik und den persönlichen Werdegang des Präsidenten.

Die Jahresänderungsrate des Umlaufs an von Ansässigen im Euro-Währungsgebiet begebenen Schuldverschreibungen stieg von -0,5 % im September 2015 auf 0,5 % im Oktober.
