In the fourth quarter of 2014, the financial assets of households rose by just over €69 billion (ie 1.4%) on the quarter, climbing to a figure of €5,072 billion. Together with the transaction-related acquisition of financial assets which totalled just over €40.5 billion, valuation gains in the amount of around €28.5 billion contributed to this increase in assets.

Im Februar 2015 wies die Leistungsbilanz des Euro-Währungsgebiets einen Überschuss von 26,4 Mrd € auf. In der Kapitalbilanz war bei den Direktinvestitionen und Wertpapieranlagen zusammengenommen ein Anstieg der Forderungen um 79 Mrd € sowie der Verbindlichkeiten um 66 Mrd € zu verzeichnen.

The Spring Meetings of the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank are being held in Washington, DC, this coming weekend. G20 finance ministers and central bank governors will also be convening on the sidelines of these meetings from 17 to 19 April. One of the main topics at the meeting will be organisational reforms at the International Monetary Fund.

Im Rahmen des Survey of Professional Forecasters (SPF) sammelt die EZB die Meinungen professioneller Prognostiker außerhalb des Eurosystems. Bei der vierteljährlichen Umfrage werden die Erwartungen in Bezug auf Inflation, Wachstum des realen BIP und Arbeitslosigkeit im Euro-Währungsgebiet über verschiedene Zeithorizonte erhoben sowie eine quantitative Einschätzung der Unsicherheit im Zusammenhang mit den Prognosen erbeten.

Auf der heutigen Sitzung hat der EZB-Rat beschlossen, den Zinssatz für die Hauptrefinanzierungsgeschäfte sowie die Zinssätze für die Spitzenrefinanzierungsfazilität und die Einlagefazilität unverändert bei 0,05 %, 0,30 % bzw. -0,20 % zu belassen.
