Beatrice Weder di Mauro, former member of the German Council of Economic Experts, President of the Centre for Economic Policy Research (CEPR) since 2018 and professor at the Geneva Graduate Institute, will give a speech on 6 December 2023 entitled “Still Too Big to Fail? Lessons from the Failure of Credit Suisse”.

Bundesbank President Jens Weidmann highlighted how modern central banking has been shaped by crises, adding that this also applies to the Bundesbank's mandate, which was influenced by the fact that the German population had lost their savings twice in the first half of the 20th century.

Gemäß der Berichtspflichten der ESZB-Satzung wird von der Europäischen Zentralbank (EZB) wöchentlich ein konsolidierter Ausweis des Eurosystems veröffentlicht. Dieser soll den Nutzern als Informationsquelle im Zusammenhang mit den geldpolitischen Operationen, den Devisengeschäften und der Investitionstätigkeit dienen. Zudem sind darin Angaben über die Liquiditätsströme enthalten.

Bundesbank President Jens Weidmann sees the development of local bond markets in African countries as an important step in improving the financing conditions for investment. "Domestic debt markets are the primary way to raise private funds for investment," explained Mr Weidmann at a G20 conference in Berlin.
