Im Mai 2014 wies die saisonbereinigte Leistungsbilanz des Euro-Währungsgebiets einen Überschuss von 19,5 Mrd € auf. In der Kapitalbilanz waren bei den Direktinvestitionen und Wertpapieranlagen zusammengenommen Nettokapitalzuflüsse in Höhe von 60 Mrd € (nicht saisonbereinigt) zu verzeichnen.
