Protecting the integrity and reputation of the Bundesbank requires constant, joint efforts in order to maintain public trust in the Bundesbank’s performance of its tasks over the long haul.

With its electronic access for credit institutions, which is based on the Electronic Banking Internet Communication Standard (EBICS), the Deutsche Bundesbank offers a communication channel based on accepted protocols and standards which is capable of processing the growing data volumes in the data exchange between payment service providers with bank sort code efficiently, securely and cost-effectively.

The Bundesbank is responsible for the ongoing supervision of credit institutions in Germany. Through their on-site inspections, the Bundesbank's supervisors gain a deep insight into institutions' capital and liquidity adequacy.

The Eurosystem conducts monthly longer-term refinancing basic tender operations with a three-month maturity in order to steady the supply of liquidity and to assist banks which are active in the money market in the security of their operations.

The German government has decided to mint a €5 collectors’ coin entitled “Banded demoiselle”, to be issed at 9 November 2023. It is the fifth coin issued as part of the “Wonderful world of insects” series, which will see a total of nine coins with partially coloured motifs issued from 2022 to 2024.
